Community Comes Together to House Fire Victims

Monterey, CA – Property Restoration Services has partnered with the Monterey Fairgrounds to offer shelter for those affected by the fire. Donating 8 RV spaces with water, electricity and sewer, the Monterey Fairgrounds and PRS are calling for anyone in the community with a trailer/RV to be donated for displaced victims through August 11.

“This is what community is about,” said Nicole Petitt, Property Restoration Services about the partnership. “When disasters of this magnitude hit your community, your home, all you want to do is help. It was a natural fit to partner with the a community minded non-profit like the Monterey Fairgrounds. They were unbelievably gracious in offering their help.”

With over 40,000 acres burned and new evacuations called for Cachagua and Tassajara communities of Carmel Valley, the Soberanes fire continues to be a fierce monster. As it stands now, 57 homes and 11 outbuildings have been destroyed and the fire threatens over 2000 structures.

“We have seen the damage that fire can cause and our hearts go out to all of those affect,” said Petitt. “We have decided to donate our trailer and hope that others will do the same. This is our chance to offer help, no matter how small, to support our community.”
