Over 30 fires were reported in Salinas July 4, 2015
With a $1,250 fine for using private fireworks in Salinas, residents need to be aware of the most current regulations regarding fireworks in their areas.
All private fireworks use is now illegal in Salinas.
You can be fined $1250 for using fireworks of any kind.
This includes so-called “safe and sane” fireworks — which are not really safe. (Note that “safe and sane” fireworks are still illegal until after July 4, 2016, even with the passage of Measure C.)
You can also face criminal prosecution and/or civil liability if your use of fireworks causes injury, death, or property damage.
Property owners are responsible for fireworks use on their property.
Fines are $500 for the first offense, $1,000 for the second offense, and $1,500 for every additional offense.
